Glossary entry for
The Eternals

The Eternals were figures in Blake's longer prophetic works (ie: The First Book of Urizen: "Eternals I hear your call gladly,/ Dictate swift winged words, & fear not/ To unfold your dark visions of torment.")

They resemble human beings whose senses, experiences and emotions are expanded as a result of not being trapped in mortal bodies. And, you can see what they look like because Blake was thoughtful enough to make engravings.
