The Hut on Chamberlain Street (mentioned on The Interview Album (Mercury, 1986) was where the 15 year old Van would perform songs by The Shadows, Johnny Kidd And The Pirates and Jerry Lee Lewis. His band was called The Thunderbirds and then The Four Jacks. The venue is officially known as the East Belfast Social & Working Men's Club..
